Negotiations

Course Materials

Tools to facilitate learning

Materials

We use a textbook, readings and negotiations exercises as course materials

Textbook

Classic texbook.  Optional purchase. But I still use my copy from undergrad today as a reference.  Find it on amazon: Fisher, R., Ury, W. & Patton, B. (1991). Getting to Yes.  New York: Penguin Books (any edition).

Articles

We will read a number of articles that relate to the negotiation topics in each class.  Links to the articles are found on the course schedule.

Negotiation Exercises

The negotiation exercises used in the course are copyrighted and include a user fee which the Alberta Business School pays to the copyright holders.  This is similar to a course packet, although the materials are not distributed together at the beginning of class but rather throughout the semester. The user fees and copy charges for the exercises used and distributed in class are included in the exercise fee charged to and paid by students registered for the course. Students will pay this fee during their third week in class.

You will be sent an invoice by email. Payment can be made by credit card online.

NOTE:  Students MUST send me proof of payment by September 19.  Failure to do so will result in a reduction of one letter grade each week.  Failure to submit proof of payment by October 1 will result in a forced withdrawal from the course.

The up to date schedule for this course is on google calendar:  Please add tiny.cc/Block412 to your university calendar.
See an overview of the calendar below (Note: not all materials will be available if you do not add the calendar)
